Water is life.  De eerste levensbehoefte.

De afgelopen jaren hebben we diverse grote waterprojecten uitgevoerd waarbij we meerdere waterputten in gemeenschappen hebben aangelegd en sanitaire voorzieningen bij scholen hebben gebouwd.

In de gemeenschappen van Kisozi, Bulamka, Namasagali en Kameke hebben we in totaal 7 waterputten aangelegd.

Partner Marie-Stella-Maris heeft in Bulamka diverse prachtige videos gemaakt over het belang van water in deze regio.

Op dit moment richten we ons de aanleg van watertanks ten behoeve van rainwater harvesting.  Inmiddels hebben we al een grote groep jonge mannen en vrouwen opgeleid tot watertank bouwer en bij verschillende scholen watertanks geïnstalleerd ten behoeve van rainwater harvesting.  Ook de introductie van waterfilters op scholen en in gezinnen draagt bij tot bewustwording en kennis over het belang van schoon drinkwater. In 2020-2021 leiden we opnieuw een groep jonge mannen op tot watertank bouwer en worden er opnieuw een groot aantal watertanks bij scholen en medisch centra gebouwd.

Watercampagnes over hygiëne en het voorkomen van ziekten door vervuild water zijn altijd onderdeel van onze projecten.

Throughout the years we have carried out several major WASH projects, which involved the construction of boreholes in communities and sanitation at schools.

In the communities of Kisozi, Bulamka, Namasagali and Kameke, we have constructed 7 boreholes.

At this moment, we focus on the construction of watertanks for rainwater harvesting.  We have previously trained a group of young men and women to become watertank constructors and installed watertanks at different schools in the area.  The introduction of waterfilter at schools and in familie contributes to knowledge and awareness about the importance of clean drinking water. In 2020-2021, we will train a new group of young men to become watertank constructors and a great number of watertanks shall be constructed at schools and medical centers.

Water campaigns about hygiene and preventing waterborne diseases are always part of our WASH projects.
